Cut off overflow text in Report Writer

There are instances where you need to cut off text in a report because the overflow causes problems with report alignment. This is most likely noticeable in something like a report label.

Here is how you can cut off text and replace with a ...

Go to Settings > Report Writer > and edit your report

In the Report Header / Footer (top section), you will need this code.

.cutOffTextWithTripleDot{
text-overflow: ellipsis;
white-space: nowrap;
overflow: hidden;
}

Note: This code must be within the section.

Once you have this code within the Style, now you want to place the '.cutOffTextWithTripleDot' within the area of your report that you want to cut off.

^p class = "smallerDistanceBetweenParagraphs *cutOffTextWithTripleDot*" ^
^ span class = "boldTxt" ^ Descr: ^/span^ item.description~ ^/p ^

The ^ should be replaced with a 'less than' or 'greater than' symbol. The wiki guide renders these signs as code.

Make sure your code is within the p class tag. In this example we have two class codes applying to the same string of text.
